Kien Tran is a photographer and cinematographer specializing in sports, travel, commercial, and advertising. His photographic style is easily recognizable by others as his images are painted with a dramatic intensity that brings his subject to life. Kien is able to focus on a subject’s talents and showcase them, whether it is through video or still photography, allowing the audience to truly see the subject as they want to be seen. Engaging, motivating, and empowering are some of the words that can be used to describe his unique style when it comes to video. Even though artificial light is used for the majority of his work, he is no stranger to utilizing natural light and capturing pure authentic moments; his personal, travel, and event images are a testament to this.

 

Kien’s goals are to give back to his community and allow his work to change, motivate, and inspire people around the world. Whether it be local projects to support his hometown or charities to support third world countries, he wants to give back anyway he can and bring awareness where help is needed.  As 1 of the 21 photographers in Canada recognized as a 2015 Emerging Photographer by Photolife, Kien strives towards perfection and will stop at nothing to get the unique shot.
